Steve Dougherty Personal Training

I became a PT almost 3 years ago after becoming unhappy with what I saw in the mirror. After starting my own fitness journey and losing around 40 lbs, I decided I wanted to help people change their lives and their bodies in the same way I had.

There are so many benefits to fitness, not just the physical health benefits but there are benefits to your mental health too. On a personal level, Strength Training in particular has helped me not only transform my body but also deal with Stress and Anxiety which I have had struggled with in the past.

My clients all comment on the fact that they not only feel they have become physically stronger but are more confident as a result.

3 Pt sessions a week for almost 2mnth

Strength Training

Steve is a brilliant personal trainer, I've had a few injuries and from day one he altered workouts to make sure I could build strength In a way that didn't compromise healing. He got to know my workout style quite quickly and used that to push me forward. Very understanding and flexible when I had to change days and times due to childcare duties. Knowledgeable and professional and very easy to work with. I will recommend Steve to anyone thinking about weight training in their fitness journey. Thank you for all your work!

Increased Progress from Strength Training and Physique Progress

Steve has kept me pushing on with my Strength Training, we hit some new 1 rep maxes which indicates that I'm getting stronger but I''m still seeing the positive effects it's having on my body too. Strength Training and Weight Loss

Steve is always on time and is flexible if I need to change my weekly sessions. I get so much more out of going to the gym due to Steves training and advice on what suits me. Ongoing live Puregym classes

I would always recommend Steve Dougherty of Fitbook, I can't say enough about his work. As a Personal Trainer he makes you feel relaxed and comfortable. I mainly use Free Weights and Weight Machines and his supervision and advice is top drawer. Because of lockdown and the fact I have limited equipment I have been doing mainly cardio. I can't wait until Gyms reopen and I can get back to my usual training routine. Thanks Steve

Weight Loss and Increase Strength.

121 PT Weight Training

Great 121 Personal trainer, I have 3 sessions a week with Steve, which i started 4 weeks ago, after he helped keep me motivated during lokdown with his out door bootcamps in Sunderland, he's been very flexible with me due to the school holidays.
He helps me keep motivated every session and educates me thoroughly throughout,
I'm only doing weight training as I find that's what suits me and he always makes sure I'm performing every technique correctly and safety, even changing my stance to help me proform better, which I wouldn't off known how to do, definitely highly recommend, fantastic addition to Fitbook.

Feel like even in a short space off time I've learnt alot.

He Is More Than A Personal Trainer, Fitbook Have A Real Gem Here.

This is my first experience of working with a personal trainer and I would wholeheartedly recommend Steve.

I have suffered with back pain for several years which limited my activity. Steve introduced me to weight training and the importance of strength training to build up supporting muscles. He structured our sessions around what I was able to do safely and without pain. This has worked effectively, and I am now more active as a result and have a better understanding of what I need to do to manage my pain.

Steve taught me how to use the machines correctly and safely and has given me the confidence and knowledge to use weights on my own if I go train solo in Sunderland. I do not feel intimidated to go into the big lads weight section alone now.

My working hours can be very unpredictable and Steve was very flexible to fit in our sessions around this.

He is professional and is not frightened to push/challenge me when I need it, but also is not too hard on me when I fall off the wagon, or I’m having an off day.

Steve is an approachable, friendly guy who is not frightened to laugh at himself and/or me. He is more than a personal trainer, Fitbook have a real gem here. He is a stress buster when I turn up angry, a binge eating councillor when I just NEED to eat all of the chocolate, but mostly an encouraging friend.

Give him a go, you won’t regret it.

Strength Building And Improve 1 Rep Max

Sunderland based Steve Dougherty is a great Personal Trainer he had an answer for all the questions I had which were helpful and detailed. He helped me with my form which improved greatly with each session I done with him and helped me to get closer to the goals I set for myself. Lost 5 stone and added muscle

Was paired up with Steve by manager of the gym in Sunderland, he has shown me how to increase weight safely when resistance training, shown me various forms of training.
I am so happy I have Lost 5 stone up until now. My whole body has changed massively. I Wouldn't be able to do it without him and high recommend Steve on Fitbook to anyone wishing to lose weight and change their bodies.

1-1 Personal training sessions

Great Personal trainer, I have 2-3 sessions per week with Steve, very flexible with time due to my work schedule through Sunderland.
He helps me be motivated in every session and motivates me and educates me thoroughly throughout.
Looks at strength training along with cardio.
