About The Business

My name is Adam Gittings and I am a personal trainer at Puregym Sunderland who can help you to improve your confidence and body image through exercise and a healthy lifestyle. I’ve been in your shoes, I use to have very little confidence and not like how I looked, but going to the gym changed my life! Overtime my confidence shot up, I felt a lot better about myself and how I looked and I’ve not looked back since. So now I want to help you to do the same!

Starting the gym changed my life! I got diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome at the age of 4 and this has effected me in so many ways. I had really low self confidence, I was out of shape, I really struggled with social skills, I got bullied and I just generally didn’t feel good about myself, always feeling like I was less than everyone else because of my condition. So I made the promise to sign up to my local gym as soon as I was old enough because I thought, maybe if I looked good, I’ll feel better about myself and might not get bullied. But it did a lot more than that…

You had to be 14 to join, so I signed up on my 14th birthday, but I didn’t have the confidence to go on my own. Eventually a few of my friends started going, so I went with them and eventually built up the confidence to start going by myself and thats where it all began! From day 1, I made all my plans myself, I spent hours researching different training methods and nutrition through you tube and articles, which with having aspergers helped me to focus and put together a really detailed, structured and organised plan. Overtime I started to build a body I am proud of, the bullying stopped, I got a lot more respect from people and most importantly, this helped me to cope with my aspergers massively and my social skills and self confidence shot through the roof. Fitness gave me a sense of belonging and helped me to find my passion and what my purpose was. By the time I left school at 18, I knew I wanted to be involved in fitness for a living…

Fast forward 9 years later and I’m now 23, I have my bad days, but my aspergers in mainly under control, my social skills are 100x better, I’m now a fitness professional with my own business and I want to help other people who were in my position and want to make a change

If you’re ready to make a change, learn more about fitness or just want someone to keep you in check, I will be happy to help in any way I can!

Feel free to get in touch if you would like an informal, no-pressure chat about my Personal Training and Online Coaching services.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!
